I can't imagine homelessness, but have tried since we've become friends with Munktalth, an 18 year old homeless boy/man here in our city. We have given him a loaf of bread, some other food, and taken him out for fried meat pockets at a close-by neighborhood restaurant when we see him. We can speak limited language with him; so far, it's been just "small talk". I wonder, has he chosen this lifestyle, does he know no other way, how long has he been on his own, and a multitude of other questions. We want to make a difference in his life...little by little. He is appreciative, which is a wonderful quality. Yesterday when we saw him, his eyes lit up and he threw his arms out as if perhaps he wanted to hug us, and then put them down and just smiled. We took him to the restaurant and did some small chatting. Oh, how I wish we could talk more. There are people all over the world in desperate situations. If we all helped just one.....
